Description: Advisors need an easier way to track which client documents they have already downloaded and started reviewing versus newly uploaded documents. Currently, the only way to do this is to manually compare files one by one. Advisors have to remember which documents they previously downloaded and then cross-check against newly uploaded files. Upload dates are not a reliable indicator, since advisors do not always remember the exact day they last worked on a return. Proposed solution: Add a visible indicator or status (for example: “Downloaded,” “Reviewed,” or “New since last download”) on each document. Ideally, this status would update automatically when a document is downloaded. Why this matters: This would significantly reduce manual effort, prevent duplicate work, and make it easier for advisors to confidently resume work on a return while waiting for additional documents from the client. Use case: An advisor downloads a set of documents, begins reviewing the return, then waits several days or weeks for the client to upload additional files. When they return to the portal, they can immediately see which documents are new versus already reviewed, without having to manually compare files.
