It would be great if the engagement is set up for a certain tax year (ie 2025) and the client uploads documents for the incorrect tax year (ie a Form 1099 for 2024) if there could be a prompt telling them that they are uploading a document for a different tax year and have them confirm if this was intentional. There could be instances when they are providing a prior year document for some reason so if they confirm, if could be accepted, but it would be great if it was pointed out since more often than not, it was likely a mistake.
