Firm Feature Requests

There are sometimes situations when a return cannot be e-filed or there is an e-file rejection that cannot be resolved. We don’t currently have a way to add note to an engagement to explain that it was paper filed. I would like to request a status of "Paper Filed" for the "E-sign your final tax returns" task for these situations to make it perfectly clear to anyone looking at the engagement. If the client mails their return(s), we don’t always get a copy of the certified slip to upload to the task if we mark it accepted, and marking it as accepted implies that it was e-filed.

I’ve noticed that the auto-created labels in the File Name when uploading documents to the Permanent Records are a little clunky and distracting – they are in black above the actual document File Name which is the 2nd line in a less prominent gray color – my suggestion would be, if the labels need to be kept at all, to switch the display the other way around so the File Name is more prominent.

With the new grouping functionality it would be helpful to have the ability to select whether a roadmap item should be added to the individual or another entity within the group. We often review for planning items and may uncover items that should reside in either place. As a workaround we are having to open the business profile in a second browser tab to be able to add items to it. That isn't very efficient.

When selecting documents to add to a client profile we are limited to only showing up to 50 documents. Please expand to up to 200 as per the document view link

The Executive Summary & Entity & Structure Review are very wordy. It would be preferable to have section headers and bullet points. The charts are very helpful in Compliance Gaps & Risks, Missed Planning Opportunities It would be great to have links to the underlying documents that it reviewed in each of the sections. The Roadmap is quite helpful in sifting through the next steps and stages of advisory. The client brief was very vague. It mentioned missed planning opportunities, but didn't identify any by name. The structural improvements wasn't clear. In the future, I would love to be able to ask questions to delve deeper into the analysis, make any corrections, and answer some of the questions. It would be great to be prompted with questions that we can answer before it completed the report similar to other AI platforms so that we can fill in some of the knowledge gaps in real time if we have answers that weren't provided on a document. Note - this was an individual with several rental properties held under a single member LLC rather than a business entity. I'm not sure if that's what causing some of this vagueness as the AI may not have been designed to parse through this information as well as it has for business structures. This is a great start. I'm thrilled to be playing with this in Beta stage.

Context Currently, when an engagement passes its due date in the portal, it becomes inactive and disappears from the Engagement page. This happens even if the engagement is incomplete (e.g., acceptance not yet uploaded). Impact Advisors lose visibility into engagements that are still incomplete, which makes it difficult to track progress and follow up. Incomplete but overdue tasks may be overlooked since they no longer appear in the active view. This creates confusion and additional manual effort to confirm status, reducing efficiency in the workflow. Desired Outcome Engagements should remain visible on the Engagement page until they are 100% complete. Once past due, the system could flag the engagement by: -Changing the status color to red to indicate lateness. -Keeping the engagement in the list until all required steps are completed. User Benefit Advisors would have clear visibility into overdue items without losing track of incomplete work. It improves accountability and reduces risk of missed follow-up actions. Provides a more accurate reflection of engagement status, enhancing trust and usability of the portal. Proposal Instead of disappearing, engagements remain visible with a red overdue indicator. Completed engagements can still move off the active page, but only after all required items are finalized.

Enable the ability to mark esign tasks as “sent” even when clients prefer to sign authorization forms on paper. This update would allow the team to track the status of a return without sending notifications or signature requests to the client. Currently, the earliest status that can be updated in the portal is “e-file submitted,” so this change would provide better visibility into engagement progress while accommodating paper based signatures.

Have the ability to enable automatic population of the date field with the client’s actual signature date when signing documents (e.g., e-file authorization forms). Currently, clients must manually input the date. The ideal experience would mirror functionality available in other e-signature platforms, where a setting allows the date field to default to the signing date without manual input. This would help especially when documents are sent later in the day and clients expect to sign all required forms at once.

We are seeing an increase in firms/advisors trying to send documents directly out of PD instead of toggling back to the portal to send the doc from the appropriate task. If there was a way to eliminate the option to send directly from the PD, it could increase self-serve efficiency.

We really need a tag for rental activity. Any property management statement or 1099-MISC for rental income is tagged as self-employment, which is incorrect. Further, clients pay property tax, insurance, mortgage interest, and a myriad of other expenses for which the client may upload document that may currently only be categorized as "Other". This means that it will end up as Unclassified because TaxAssist (or Autoflow) do not know what to do with these items or put the property taxes and Forms 1098 in Itemized Deductions because that's where they would naturally go for an individual. This includes partnerships and fiduciary filings as well as many rental properties are held in partnerships or fiduciary entities.
