Context:
The current tax questionnaire is designed as a one-size-fits-all form, but it does not accommodate the unique needs of new clients. Specifically, it does not collect essential personal information such as address (if not previously provided), Social Security Number (SSN), and copies of their Driver’s License. Advisors working with new clients need a way to gather this information efficiently as part of the tax preparation process.
Impact:
Incomplete Data Collection: New clients may not have their necessary information on file, leading to delays in tax return preparation.
Inefficiency: Advisors must manually request missing details outside the system, increasing workload and potential errors.
User Frustration: The current setup does not align with the advisor workflow, creating extra steps that could be streamlined.
Desired Outcome:
Introduce an option within the tax questionnaire to collect key personal information specifically for new clients.
Consider a toggle or separate version of the questionnaire tailored to new versus existing clients.
Ensure the questionnaire captures:
Full Name
Address (if not previously provided)
Social Security Number (SSN)
Driver’s License details (if required for verification)
