Create workflow for $0 extensions that do not require client e-file authorization

The current workflow for tracking extension status is primarily built around extensions that include a balance due and require the client's signature. However, for extensions filed without payment, there isn't a straightforward way to update the status once they've been filed and accepted.
It would be very helpful to have the ability to manually mark an extension as "Filed" and then "Accepted" without needing to complete the "E-sign Your Extension Authorization" task. This would streamline tracking for zero-balance extensions and improve overall workflow clarity.

Hi Dominique & Joyal, wanted to let you know this functionality exists in the portal! If you add the "e-sign your extension auth" task, you can use the menu on the task (three little dots) to manually mark the extension as filed and accepted - all without setting up signatures/sending to the client first. Please let us know if you have any questions! Adding a screenshot for reference.

Dominique Chapman: Confirming! They'll only see the task if you create the task, upload an authorization form, set up signatures and send it.
That being said, if you upload an extension acceptance, they will receive an email notifying them of that document upload. You can always mark the extension accepted without uploading a document - in that case they won't receive an email.
We'll think about how to make this workflow more clear and self-explanatory in the future!
